I photo-document my family all year long but there’s something about the spring that awakens it in me even more. Maybe it’s the flowers, or all the greening up, or the warmth, but I love it.

One of my favorite things in the world is going on outdoor “adventures” with these guys (dad when he can). We have a set time each week and they know it and I know it. We leave everything else behind and lately I’ve been impressed that they don’t bat an eye when it’s time to go right in the middle of playing with friends. They just come. We roam, unravel, marvel, (they fight, but magically less than at home!) and shoot the breeze. I really want to find a way to protect this sacred time with them. I know it’ll get harder as they get older.
