lemonade stands project summer 2017

I really enjoyed doing this project. There’s something so nostalgic and American about lemonade stands. All the work that goes into them, the sense of responsibility the kids feel as they prepare their stand and goods, make their sign, advertise and sell… It was fun to see the variety of signs and scenes. I was going for a documentary “stumbled upon” sort of look and am overall pleased with how it turned out. My little girl and I often drove around together looking for the stands. She especially loved purchasing treats from each one. ;) I also had a few friends that notified me when their kids were doing a stand or when they came across one randomly. I appreciate their help along with every one else who participated. At the end of this post, you can find a video that came out a couple of months ago about how Utah just legalized lemonade stands. It cracks me up that I just happened to do this project the same year.

What a great project, capturing the simple joy of children with their lemonade stands! Thanks for sharing your talent, artwork and a sweet (lemonade with sugar) taste of summer nostalgia! Afterall, I had my share of lemonade business in my day!!!

Oh my god Kristi! What a wonderful project. I love each and every one of these photos. It seems that lemonade stands are quite popular over in SLC huh. Brazilian lemonade & cheese breaad? Yum. I’m so happy seeing how these came out, I loved the a idea since the beginning and you nailed it.
